LIGNA is the world’s leading trade fair for the wood and forestry industry as well as for woodworking and processing. Its name is derived from the Latin word “lignum”, which means “wood”, underlining the clear industry focus of the event. Since its founding in 1975, LIGNA has developed into a central meeting place for the industry. It takes place every two years at the Hanover Exhibition Centre – one of the most modern and largest exhibition grounds in the world, with an area of around one million square metres.
